Winner of the Scholastic Arts & Writing Silver Key Award of the Eastern Division of the United States

This collection addresses how the use of marijuana (weed) among teens and adolescents can have both short-term and long-term effects on their emotional, physical, and mental health.

Impaired coordination, concentration, judgment, anxiety, paranoia, and hallucinations are all resulting factors of smoking marijuana.

I hand drew contour line drawings of faces expressing a variety of different emotions to represent those experienced after consuming marijuana.

By using a handheld lighter, I was able to give the dress layers and dimension while also portraying the appearance of the end of a lit blunt.
